ITE College East and Metta Welfare Association sign Letter of Agreement to renew the Community Partnership under ITE College East's 'Care for a Home' Scheme
With a commitment to care for the community, the ITE College East 'Care for a Home' Scheme was first initiated in September 2006 with the signing of a 2-year Community Partnership with Metta Welfare Association. Since then, ITE College East has organised a total of 22 activities, ranging from technical to motor skills development, as well as personal enrichment and grooming programmes. Throughout the 2 years, there was strong support from staff and students alike to make every activity a meaningful one for all. It was indeed good news to all to learn that 2 Metta students had gained permanent employment with Holiday Inn Park View Hotel with the skills they acquired from the "Servicing of Split Unit Air-Con and Sanitary & Plumbing Services" programme run by our Facility Technology department.
With the community partnership coming to an end in March 2008, on 4 April 2008, ITE College East signed a Letter of Agreement with Metta to renew the partnership. We have no doubt that the partnership will continue to enrich the lives of many CE staff and students and benefit the Metta beneficiaries.
